The introduction of the Notes also marks an important milestone for both Bank of China and BSE. The cooperation started in 2017 with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two parties, which aimed to familiarize Chinese investors with Hungarian companies and to attract Chinese issuer companies to acquire capital through BSE.
The MoU, which helped the introduction of yuan denominated capital market instruments on BSE, also aligns with China’s „One Belt, One Road“ initiative, of which Hungary is an active partner since its inception.
